<image:title>About - About Me</image:title>
<image:caption>I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Certified Advanced Trainer of the Nurtured Heart Approach®, and teacher of Mindful Self-Compassion for Children and Caregivers, practicing in Austin, Texas. Through psychotherapy, parent coaching, and classes, I support children, adolescents, and their parents to recognize their own strengths and develop healthy relationships. Prior to becoming a therapist, I completed undergraduate degrees in Sociology and Economics at Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas and spent several formative years working for AmeriCorps. I was born and raised in the Rio Grande Valley of South Texas and fluently speak Spanish. Therapeutic Approach I have worked as a therapist with children, teens, and parents and caregivers for 13 years. I enjoy supporting all members of the family in their journey toward peaceful and fulfilling relationships. I know that being a parent is one of the hardest roles a person can hold in life – and growing up in the world is really hard work, too. My approach is influenced by child-centered play therapy, interpersonal neurobiology, attachment theory, cognitive therapy, and mindful self-compassion. In my work with parents I draw primarily from the Nurtured Heart Approach®, a framework for creating healthy relationships between parents and their children. Clients and colleagues have described me as warm, grounded, and compassionate. I balance my approach to counseling with empathy and humor, and I work hard to create a space where clients of all ages feel comfortable engaging in therapy. I regularly participate in a consultation group for psychotherapists as well as an ongoing reading group to stay up-to-date on research and topics relevant to my work.</image:caption>

<image:title>Services - Child, Adolescent & Family Therapy</image:title>
<image:caption>Childhood and adolescence are stages of rapid, intense physical and cognitive growth. It can be hard to know how to best support our children when they are struggling and growing. I draw from evidence-based theories and a deep understanding of child and adolescent development to support you and your child in moving through difficult times.</image:caption>

<image:title>Services - Parent Coaching</image:title>
<image:caption>“Parent” is one of the hardest titles that we can hold in life. And there isn’t much space in our competitive society to speak openly about the challenges inherent to this role. Oftentimes we get so weighed down by the shame of feeling like a “not good enough” parent that we don’t seek support. Parent coaching sessions allow you to speak honestly about those challenges with someone who will listen deeply, respond with compassion, and guide you toward practical solutions to restore joy to your family life.</image:caption>

<image:title>Services - Pregnancy and Postpartum</image:title>
<image:caption>Pregnancy and the postpartum period are filled with expectations and unexpected changes that many parents never knew to expect before entering this season of their lives. Joy, grief, overwhelm: these are common yet difficult emotions that new and expectant parents often experience. It’s not often easy to talk about these challenges with our loved ones or friends.</image:caption>

<image:title>Child & Adolescent Therapy - Child, Adolescent & Family Therapy</image:title>
<image:caption>Childhood and adolescence are stages of rapid, intense physical and cognitive growth. This can be challenging for both the child and their caregivers. It is also a time of incredible opportunity for deepening parent-child connections. I can help you understand what your child’s behavior might indicate, and support your child in navigating these challenges. I work with children as young as 3 years old, and up through the teenage years. My work is rooted in a deep understanding of child and adolescent development. I recognize that each child moves through the stages of development at their own pace and in their own unique way. Have questions? Want to learn more?</image:caption>
